I am starting to feel the Olympic fever (and so can you!)
Watch this 60 Minutes segment with Michael Phelps (it’s new, not the one when Anderson Cooper “races him”)
-he and teammate Ryan Lochte are in head on competition at the trials and they both want it bad (so far Ryan has the lead)
Seattle hometown fighter, Queen Underwood has qualified and will represent USA! in the first Oympics with Women’s Boxing and she’s got a life story that’s real and complicated and worth reading. (And they aren’t going to make her wear a skirt much to her relief.)
And, of course, the best story of the week is the tie in the 100m trials between Allyson Felix and Jeneba Tarmoh.
Only the top 3 finishers get a spot, they tied for 3rd and it could be decided with a coin toss or a run-off later in the week.
So start humming the theme in the shower, do a couple of lunges when you get out of bed each morning (makes me feel like an athlete for about 15 minutes) and most importantly load Whitney in your iPod for the next few weeks and you will be all set on July 27th to settle in with Matt Lauer for the opening ceremony. Which of course will have a drama too…I’m betting on Elton John performing his new version of Candle in the Wind written just for David Beckham…
I can’t wait for the sappy biographies, the end of the night recaps, the live tweeting, the melodrama…it’s like they were made just for me. Join me won’t you?

The WiesbaTens of Germany are heading to the Olympics at the end of the month! On the top of our list: watching Matt Lauer do the Today show. We will be spreading the love in England! Any London Tens interested in a meet up?
