I’ll never ask for anything ever again (#ridiculousprayers)

I just saw this headline and immediately started begging the heavens to make it come true:

Friday Night Lights is one of my all time favorite shows and I miss it and I miss the people and I miss the heart and soul it exhibited week after week.

Arrested Development was able to assemble the entire cast for their upcoming reunion(although some people are complaining about a lack of Steve Holt. To which I said, “Really? Him?”)

FNL is a different animal since it took place at a high school over 4 years. I don’t think it’s necessary to bring back everyone, so I’ll do a little chart for the executives.

CRUCIAL:

Kyle Chandler, Connie Britton and showrunner and writer, Jason Katims. (Peter Berg was just the exec. producer)

IMPORTANT:

Landry, Tyra, Tim Riggins, Matt Saracen, Saracen’s grandma

HOPE TO SEE ‘EM:

Jason Street, Smash, Smash’s mom, Buddy, Luke Cafferty,

SKIP ‘EM:

Julie and Lila

If you still haven’t watched the show, I couldn’t more highly recommend it. I promise you it’s not about football. It’s about all of us, our hopes and dreams and the compromises we make and the little moments of love and sacrifice and the big moments of failure and honor, all that make us the men and women we are. Please watch it.

Jen, I spent all of last summer drinking CSM and watching FNL. I noticed you left Vince out of your list of characters. Was that an oversight or because you’re not interested in seeing him in the movie?

    • JenAndrews Says:

It was a total oversight…I would love to see Vince (and his mom) in the movie. He is probably the best example of someone blossoming under Coach. The LATimes said the show was one long lesson from Coach in how to be a g-damn man…and you could really see that in Vince.

    Jen,

Your last comment on why we should watch FNL was perfect. It will be what I refer to everytime I suggest FNL to someone.

Thanks for being amazing! And happy belated birthday!

    Adam

Ok, you have broken me down, I will commence with Season One!

  • Darlene Says:

I couldn’t agree with you more Jen! You recommended
FNL’s s on TBTL & so glad you did. I would see it
advertise on tv but had no interest, I’m 47, why would I
want to watch a show about high school kids & football,
but because of your enthusiasm I did & I’m so glad I did.
I really loved the relationship with coach & his wife. It
    really was a special show.

  • DJBarclay Says:

I think you have to have Julie. Agree with the rest.

  • Michelle Says:

If they can’t get Jason Katims, I’d rather they just leave Coach and company as they were {ducking as the tomatoes come flying at me}. I can’t say the ending was satisfying for all characters (maybe for Riggins), but I shudder to think of that material fast forwarded in anyone else’s hands. Not being specific to avoid spoilers…

What a wonderful way to describe a wonderful show. You’re so good at that Jen. I miss Coach and Tammi so much. They, and that show, made me want to be a better person. And Tim Riggins made me want to move to Texas :)
