For the first time I ask myself, “Where does AC/DC fit in my Thanksgiving Playlist?”

I’m sitting here building my playlist for tomorrow, and thanks to AC/DC releasing their music to iTunes this week, adding It’s A Long Way to the Top if You Wanna Rock n’ Roll to the queue is kind of an option. Yes, it may be a bit jolting during pumpkin pie, but it could become my traditional signal that the night is over and everyone should head for their coats.

Generally I think the key to a good playlist is a moderate upbeat tempo that plays a little something for everyone and is mostly made up of songs everyone knows.

So far this is the list:

Fats Domino, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Dolly Parton, Simon & Garfunkel, some Stones and Beatles, a little Beyonce and Aretha, and finally I throw in some 80s classics (this year it’s Freedom by Wham, Something So Strong by Crowded House, and a ton of Madonna…True Blue, Cherish, and Borderline)

My strategy is to give my guests something to sing along with and everyone will be  happier and more thankful and maybe they’ll even get “dancy” – to quote Pink.

Happy Thanksgiving!

thank you for not denigrating AC/DC I was a bit concerned that your post might have not without cause been focused on the misogynistic mindless nature of the rage rock that is so near and dear to me. It perfectly defines a time fueled by hormones and idioRockracy. So fun and shared with the smartest coolest strongest head banging gals. Makes me happy to hear that we are still not above a little noise pollution even if it is just to remind us that we are ready to head home and be great full we are not so young and dumb anymore..
