This week’s NewYorker has an essay by David Sedaris about the time he tried to buy a stuffed owl and what the shopping outing revealed about him and about love. How can you resist reading something that opens like this:
Does there come a day in every man’s life when he looks around and says to himself, “I’ve got to weed out some of these owls”?

And my beloved soulmate Jimmy Kimmel gave a great interview to NewYorkMagazine about his show moving to 11:35pm. He talks about how they paint over his bald spot each night, the four lovers he’s had in his life and how much joy it brings him to employ his bandmember (and father of lifelong friend, Cleto Jr.) Cleto Sr.:
He’d given up music for 30 years and was working as a room-service waiter at Caesar’s Palace when Kimmel got Live. “He got to quit that job and in his senior years become a musician again,” says Kimmel. “Being able to do that might make me more happy than anything.”

It is nice to see that David Sedaris is still just as sharp as ever. That was a great piece. Thanks for posting the link.
